Westerners International Corrals:

A Corral or Posse is the name commonly used by a local outfit. A Corral or Posse usually meets monthly, in the evening, to chomp and chat, and then to praise or to haze a speaker who has presented a program on some Western history topic.

Each Corral or Posse is an independent group usually with elected officers who may be:

Sheriff - who does what presidents do
Deputies - as many as needed with specific duties
Ink Slinger or Editor - for any publications that may develop
Recorder of Marks & Brands - to act as secretary
Keeper of the Chips - to be the treasurer
Trail Boss - if one is needed to be sergeant-at-arms and to collect at meals
Rep - Corral/Posse representative for contacts with other groups and Westerners International

MAVERICK CORRAL

For Westerners not living near an active Corral or Posse, Westerners International created the "Maverick Corral" during the mid-1990's. Members of the "Maverick Corral" receive Buckskin Bulletin, the quarterly publication produced by Westerners International, and are thereby kept informed on Westerner activities. Membership information can be obtained from the WI home ranch in Oklahoma City.
